I am having trouble deciding which card I should get for my gaming pc. I'm debating on either getting the r9-290 4GB, r9-290X 4GB, GTX 770 4GB, or GTX 780 3GB. I've heard that the r9-290 and the r9-290X are a lot louder and hotter than the GTX 770 and the GTX 780, but more powerful. Does anyone know if the heat would be a problem in a mid tower case? Which card do you think I should get? Any help would be appreciated.

I have heard that the GTX 780 is insanely powerful but that is comparing to my under $150 GPU. The heat from the other cards shouldn't be much of an issue unless you don't have any fans inside at all. All of the cards you have mentioned are fantastic and along the same lines, but you should also look and see what each build has to offer. For example how the nvidia cards will have shadowplay recording and the AMD cards having the Raptr Gaming evolved app which also works quite well. And lastly try looking at the amount of GDDR5 memory each has, MORE IS BETTER!!!
