Is there any hope for my GPU ?

This happened today.
While in-game there's alot of flickering and white/black stripes. When I exit to desktop the black bar in the middle of the screen serves as a new screen border and theres alot of the before mentioned white/black stripes.

Have considered beating the gpu with a stick, will post results.
Any other suggestions welcomed.

Also, a restart fixes everything for a few minutes after which it comes back with similar results, not as severe if I'm not in-game when it comes back.

If the card is under warranty, return it. If not, try updating the drivers. Also try the GPU in a different PC to see if this still happens.

If nothing works, you could try reflowing the GPU (Google it).

First, press the menu button on the monitor and if that displays ok then you know its not the monitor.

did, it displayed as it normally should, furthermore I swapped to the integrated card on my mb and everything works fine.

guess the card is dead :/
