Hello there!! My name is Neelam, and I am 17 years old and I want to build my own computer, but I really have no idea where to start..

My budget is atleast $500-$700

Since my old laptop finally gave out on me, it was time for me to get a new one. However, my older sister had built her own desktop from scratch, and she explained to me about how building a computer is way better than just buying a crappy HP or Dell at Best Buy,

Anyways, I was searching around for a bit on what I needed, i have some cases i found on Newegg, but other than that I have no idea what to pick or what would benefit me

I really want a conputer where I can mostly use for gaming, drawing, and also for when I go to college in computer engineering. I want to mostly use it for: livestreaming any games i play, or drawing, for programs such as Autodesk, Photoshop, Paint Tool Sai, Steam, HTML/CSS design programs, etc.

I researched on some Intel processors on what would be good, i found that I5 would be? However i wasnt sure if that forum was outdated or if theres a newer better processor out there,

Anyway Here are the cases I found-

1. Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and All-Black Interior (with no power supply)
$39.99

2.Cooler Master Elite 350 - Mid Tower Computer Case with 500W Power Supply and Blue LED Light Strip (with power supply)
$59.99

3. Cooler Master Elite 311 - Mid Tower Computer Case with 420W Power Supply and Blue Trim (with power supply)
$59.99

Im swinging towards the first one, however, im not sure what kind of power supply i should get for it??

Id really love to hear any feedback and or opinions!! Thank you!

Your sister correct, it is great to build your own rig. I am starting to do custom builds for people, so if you would like to, just tell me if you want me to build it for you and ship it to you.

Has everything you will ever need, and is my personal build for almost exactly what you need it for, except college degree is game design.

All those cases have bad ventilation. Try something like Antec GX700, in the similar price range. It comes preinstalled with 3 fans, including 2 X 140mm top exhaust and 1 X rear exhaust. It has options for mounting 2 X 120mm fans for front intake and one at the side. It also has a three speed fan controller and dust filters for ever fan vent. The case is 59$ and you have already recovered the value in the cumulative price of the fans themselves.

For a ~600$ build, (assuming you will also need to buy a monitor since you are upgrading from a laptop) your budget favors an AMD build.

I would consider something like this.

fx8320 would probably be the budget in your budget. It does go over your indicated budget because I included windows.

PSU is enough and still has a tad bit of room for a little overclock which would be needed for the fx 8320.

The motherboard is probably best one on a budget.

As for the case, it'll have to do.

I recommend this over anything else posted in this thread thus far. It is a VERY good option.
