I'm trying to install Windows 7 to my laptop, and the hard drive isn't showing when it asks me where I want Windows installed. The hard drive shows up in the BIOS and it also works just fine when i connect it to another computer via my SATA to USB connector. Any ideas?

I cant find anything on that laptop but replacement lcd's. LoL.

Since it is being detected in the bios of the acer, then try adding it to the boot order and try again.
If this is a uefi (graphical) bios then please install windows using the UEFI install method.

You may also need to go into 'drive options' (on the install screen that asks where you want to install to) and delete the existing partitions if this has been previously used.

lastly, you may need to install the sata drivers during install but this wouldnt explain why the other systems wouldnt see the drive so I'm thinking that this is low on the probability scale.

Acer Aspire 5250 Model # PSWE6. Not sure if that matters. It did the same thing on a few other computers. I hooked it up and attempted the windows install. Again, it showed in the BIOS, but not the installation screen.
