so bought a nividia 650ti boost for my computer and i have an asus M4A87TD EVO, with 10 gigs of ram,and i have a 700 wayy PSU but it is OLD like 5 years now, and when i try to play games it shuts my whole comp down and i have to restart, any ideas? i dont know whats wrong.

Solution
Check for the latest versions at the mobo website and compare them to the versions you are running (can get them from thru Device manager), simply boot to BIOS to find the current version

Did you clean out all the old GPU drivers before installing the TI? and do you have the latest BIOS and mobo drivers, all those things can also cause problems like this, though good possibility it is the PSU, might see if you can borrow one to test with, with a 650TI you should only need a good 450 PSU or better

run msinfo32 and see your current BIOS version then see the latest BIOS version uploaded

see your current version as shown in MSINFO32 and compare it to the latest version uploaded on the manufacturer's website

asus uses a BIOS update utility and the BIOS ROM file is downloaded separately unless it's a laptop
what happens when you try to run it
