I really need help,

ok so i had .net framework 4.5 installed on my windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and for some reason i installed/downloaded version 4.0.....

ever since, catalyst control center and some other games cannot start and respond saying:

"To run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework:
v4.0.30319
Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET Framework."

when i open catalyst it says the same thing but the version it says is v4.0

I need Help please anyone!

hmmm.. don't know ? sounds like something's corrupt [???] cause it telling you its there and up tom date but yet you cant do anything with it ..

did you run this ?? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

if this don't fond something I guess try the restore point . just pick a restore date behind this issue date. and let it do its thing and see if it gets you back to normal..

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restore

lastly run your os disk and use its repair tool on it

in the end you may have to reinstall windows .. I/m out of ideas on this unless someone else chimes in that got something better form you to try..
just uninstall it from programs and features shut down and reboot and see if 4.5 is back .. where and why did you install this ?? 4.5 shows to have all the .net folders in it on my copy of 7 . and most AMD cards have .net on there disk incase it needs to upgrade you if lets say you were on .net 3.5 and then Microsoft should all ready detected that its not a up to date .net and should have it in there update package of the os your using supports the newer .net ..

also if you go to Microsoft just reinstall 4.5 .. looks like it just downloads and overwrites the old one for it install

tried uninstalling rebooting and then no it doesnt pop up and yes i have the video card install disc should i try to do everything kind of like all over again?

well the thing is if it needs it, it will install it it wiil lok and see if any of the files it needs and put them in a folder called Microsoft .net in the windows file of yur harddrive if you look in this file you will see sub folders [framework] for the previous ,nets .. don't understand why AMD feels it needs to relye on this so heavy and its one of the reasons my next card will be NVidia .. I run Linux and theres no ,net for it so I feel that I bought a card that only fully works under windows?? and then what about MAC? it is getting a little too propritory for my liking .. its a shame they do this cause I think there hardware is good ..

any way ya , just install the card and get the drivers from AMD and use the 13.4 or 13.12 drivers theres been a lot of issues with the 14.xx here at toms ..

for windows 64 bit 7-8-8.1.. just down load the driver to a folder on your desktop and install it from there

alright i have uninstalled .net framework and am about uninstall all the drivers, reboot, and then install the driviers your telling me which will probably fix it, as with my laptop i had the same problem, my computer will go crazy on me so hold on and yes your right i think nvidia is alot better if you hav the money tho. and thank you so far for the help

well I don't know if NVidia is better but I don't remember having to deal with this with them I used amd for a long time but lately I think there trying to change my thinking on that .. I done went intel for my first time and cant say I did wrong ..

if you uninstalled .net 4.0 ther sill is the newer one listed there right??
looks like Microsoft got the fix it tool for that so you may want to run it first and see if it repairs it for you..

alrighty then i hate not being able to fix things but trying for 3 days straight is too much already ill accept defeat ;)

but thank you very much your the only who actually responded in any of my three other posts on other forums!

I assume this is a legal copy of windows? if so reinstall may be the thing

use your windows disk and run the repair tool/sfcscan from it .. if that don't work you maybe better off with a clean install to get it all back in working order it may be a deeper issue than .net
