Hey guys, I'm building a gaming rig and I'm wondering if I should go with an EVGA GTX 780TI SC ACX or an EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX 6GB version. I'm wondering what the extra 3 gb will get me and how that will affect my gaming experience.

it mainly depends on resolution, but even if I was playing at 4k I would choose the gtx 780 ti becaue it's still faster than the 780 6GB.

if your only gaming at 1080 the 780ti will be better if your at 1440 the extra 3gb will provide some future proofing. i have the 780 3gb and at 1440 in bf4 im using 2.5-2.8 gb frame rates are over 70 with the occasional dips in the high 50's when clocked at 1200/7000(at 1440 all ultra 4xaa). i know watch dogs and some future titles will use more.

Get the Ti or save money and get a normal 780; they're fine for current gen and no current single card will do decent settings at 4k so you may as well wait until the next generation of cards that can do it are out before spending extra.

Go for the 780 3GB that will give you the best results out of everything and you're gunna save money.
Now as for (futureproof) nobody can really tell you how long will it last and how will it game after a year because no one really knows.
but games don't really use above 3GB's these days but who knows maybe after a year your GPU could become nothing.
Other than that check the 290X as it can beat the 780 and is at the same price range.
