So for my first build my buddy offered to give me his GTX 9800. Well as I was comparing this card to some other cards, I ran across some information saying some pretty conflicting things for my build and I would be overjoyed if I could clear these up.
1. The GTX 9800 runs on PCIe 1.0 x16 will this work in the PCIe 2.0 x16 slot on the motherboard I plan on getting? Because THIS site has said it would, however the other site I saw said it would not.
2. The other has also said that the GTX 9800 will not run windows 7, I am planning on getting Windows 8.1, (but making it look act like Windows 7), so if this cannot run windows 7, I would assume it cannot run Windows 8. Please someone tell me I'm wrong.
