Hi, I am looking into building my first computer, however I have a strict budget of $1500. I am strictly using it for 3D modeling (such as maya) and gaming at high resolutions. I would like if someone helped me with the parts for the computer. I have been looking for a while now, and a iknow some parts that I absolutely want.

Parts I Want in the Build:
GeForce GTX 780 - $500
16 GB DDR3 2400 RAM- $180
NZXT Phantom 820 with Window - $210
Intel i7-4790k Haswell CPU - $340
Total: $1230

I now have $270 but I have so many more components to go.
I still need a power supply, motherboard, and CPU Cooler.

I have been researching a lot, however I have found one parts list and this is what i found.
I am just not sure how it will run, and I am not sure of its benchmarks. The parts list is:

get lower latency ddr3 1600 cas7/8 ram as the 2400 ram will have no real world advantages over the 1600 so get the lower latency
something like...
G.Skill Trident X 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory cas 7, its about a 10er cheaper.
good to see you chose an nvidia card as maya uses nvidia cuda straight out the box. so you can render from the gpu rather than the cpu which will lower power usage costs on larger renders.
zotac are a decent card manufacturer and the amp editions of there cards are sweet.
other than the memory the build is pretty decent for the money...

Nvidia Cards have very high temperatures. My quadro 4000 goes over 90 degrees while rendering.

Make sure you have GPU coolers also if you are going to use CUDA rendering.

Thnx for the advice. I am almost done selecting the parts, and I have included a NZXT GPU Bracket. It allows me to water cool my GPU with a AIO CPU cooler. I have seen videos and read reviews on it and it gives a lot of performance output. I am now upgrading to a GTX 780t, as I got a little more in my budget. Thnx for replying!

Well can you give me the link for NZXT GPU bracket, is it the kraken one?
