Howdy,
English is not my native language, so hopefully this will be readable enough
I got this ancient PC (Athlon 2800+, HD 200 GB, 1,5GB RAM, MB K7S8X. 3.0, with last possible upgraded BIOS AMI v. P2.60. It's just for fooling around and I'm about to throw it from some high cliff, but, still this problem is eating inside out and I don't think I'll be able to sleep until i get this solved.
Anyways...some time ago I installed WIN 7 x86 via USB pen-drive and it's still working fine, slower then XP as expected, but fine. After some time I tried to install XP via USB 8GB Pen-drive again, but I got stuck on "Searching for Boot Record from USB..OK" . Then I tried same thing with WIN7 and WIN 8 and I got stuck at same spot.
I made HIren's boot which also got missing MBR or some similar message...I honestly don't remember, anymore. Bottom line is WIN 7 are working perfectly, but there is no way to format disk and install any version of WIN. I was thinking, maybe I could just connect HD to some other PC, but sadly I don't have any IDE capable PC around the house anymore.
Hopefully someone have idea what is going on, before this brick dive to the bottom of nearest cliff
Best regards, A
