Needed Low profile GFX card that can run two 27" screens @ 2560x1440

Hello all.

Been a while since ive posted on here needing some help but here goes.

Work have recently purchased 27" Dells capable at running at 2560x1440.
We are using low profile desktops and they are unable to run this rez via the onboard graphics card.
I have been looking for a card that will run two screens at 2560x1440 and still fit in a low profile space of a Dell optiplex 7010.

I have already purchased and tried XFX R7-240 and XFX R7-250 (because XFX come with the low profile bracket) but unfortunantly these models do not go above 1920x1080 even on a single screen.

So im asking the community for assistance in providing a card that will suit our needs.

Cannot change the cases. These are work PC's
Low profile doesn't necessary mean no fans. The R7-240 and 250 both come with fans.
And i have been able to run 2x 1440p screens on lower cards that you are listing. Just none that are that are low profile.
Please note, it doesnt have to run any games, this is for work purpose only.

Are you sure you are using proper cables? R7 240/250 both can run 2560x1440 and even higher, but you need a proper cable for that - either DVI-D (Dual Link DVI) or HDMI 1.4

If you are using single link old DVI cables you can't go past 1920x1200.

Update - Dell optiplex 7010 has iGPU graphics with 2560x1440 support as well, by the way. If you can't get that resolution out of it - then it's definitely an issue with using inferior cable that does not support it.

Both Dell and HP do sell PC's where you can add a discrete graphics card.

The GX 620, Dell 7010 & HP 8200 elite are the model desktops we are using and they all have PCI-E x16 card slots allowing for the installation of graphics cards. I know this because we currently have Nvidia GS-8400, GTS210 and AMD HD 6450. All of which can run 2560x1440 on one screen. But not two.

Replacing the PC's is not an option. Putting the components into an ATX case is not an option.

We are asking for a low profile card that can support two screens @ 2560x1440.
After 4/5 generations of cards from the current cards we are using there has to be a card that can do what we need.

Yes mate. We are using the dual DVI cables that came with the monitors. We have also tried HDMI cables.

I still stand by my original post, there is SOME issue there you are missing, as even R7-240 definitely supports the resolution you need and even more - it is part of the basic specification there.

Straight from the specs:

HDMI® Max resolution: 4096x2160

Could we get the exact model for these Dell screens?

Using the cabled provided. And like i said. Our existing cards would run the full rez for a single screen. But not two.

The XFX R7-240 doesnt go above 1920x1080 according to their website. I have tried using just a HDMI on one screen. And still wont go above 1920x1080. And yes i have used the latest drivers.

Next hop up is a 4k screen.

DISPLAY OUTPUT

HDMI Ready : 1.4a

Max Supported Resolution (ANALOG) : 2048 x 1536

Max Supported Resolution (DIGITAL) : 1920 x 1080(DVI);4096 x 2160 (HDMI)

Output - HDMI : 1

Output - SL-DVI-D : 1

Output - VGA : 1

I am currently using the NVidia NVS 310 by PNY 512MB DDR3 PCI Express Gen 2 x16 DisplayPort 1.2 Multi-Display Professional Graphics Board, VCNVS310DP-PB, to drive my two Dell 3011 monitors at the full resolution of 2x2560x1600 (5120 x 1600).

- Chipset: NVIDIA NVS 310
- Video Memory: 512MB GDDR3
- Memory Interface: 64-bit
- Bus: PCI-Express 2.0 x16
- Max. Resolution: 2560 x 1600
- Connectors: 2x Display Port

Max power consumption is about 19 watts.

There are only two ports on this low profile card - both are DisplayPort version 1.2.
If the monitor(s) you have does not have DisplayPort connector, you will have to get DUAL-LINK DVI-D to DP adaptor cable(s).

The DUAL-LINK to DP adaptor cable is a little bit more expansive than the single-link one.

Yep, that looks good as well, either this Nvidia or the Matrox card I suggested in my earlier reply will do the job.
