I was wondering if its normal for my gpu to reach 80c when playing Crysis 3 on max? It also gets up to 99% load. I heard the cooling systems on this are really good. My ambient temperatures are from 29-31C. Will it be possible for me to play a very graphical demanding game when overclocked and not get too hot? Temps do get higher when you overclock right? I might be wrong though.

Help would be appreciated. Thanks

80 C is normal for that card. You do not need to worry about it. All you need to do is report back to me on how many stages have you been through till now :p

When you play a high end game, your card will be stressed to provide you the maximum amount of textures, smoothness and so on and eventually the temp gets high.

When overclocked, the temp gets bit higher than the default one. Make sure the temp does not surpass 90

That temperature is normal for R9 280x.
Just use manual fan speed control via GPU tweak or MSI after burner.
you get a graph to edit- how much fan speed you want for how much temperature.
modify it and you might be able to lower it than that.
mine reaches 83-85
