Will my motherboard work with this cpu?

Hi im considering buying the i5-4690k cpu for my pc, but i dont want to buy a new motherboard since i dont have the money, my motherboard is the H55M-ED55(MS-7635) will the processor work with this motherboard? thanks guys

no your motherboard will not support 4th generation processors...you need a z87 or z97 chipset board for i5 4690k...

No. Incompatible socket. Your motherboard is a LGA 1156 motherboard. The i5-4690K is a LGA 1150 chip. You need a LGA 1150 motherboard to run it.

There isn't much cheaper than that. Well, there are cheaper ones but they won't provide good overclocking potential.

Also, how big is your case? What size motherboards does it have space for?

This is my case, CM 690 NVIDIA Edition, also, im not that good with pcs, i can manage to build them but this is my set up at the moment, GTX 770, 8gb of ram( kingston hyperX blu ram, 2 sticks of 4gb) and a i3-540, 750watt psu and the motherboard above, is there any problems that i might run into?

if you are short on budget then dont go for a k model buy an i5 4670 instead....and u can buy a less expensive motherboard with the h87 or 97 chipset instead of z...drawbacks will be no overclocking..

Also. My local shop said i could get the GA-Z97-D3H mobo and the i5-4690k for 359$. Do you guys think this is a good future set up as i dont want to buy anything more for the next year or so.

Yes; that is a good combo. You may want a CPU cooler if you plan to overclock the CPU. Other than that, the i5 is an awesome gaming CPU.
