AMD vs Nvidia in optimiztaion

I heard many saying that most of the games are optimized for Nvidia video cards because Nvidia provides more driver updates for the latest games than AMD.. Is that true? Also, how can I know whether a game is optimized for the specific card/brand or entirely PC?

Depends on the game. Some games will state on the box, or if you read the review/Wikipedia article it'll state that. For example, SWAT 4's splash screens included a screen for nVidia, as it was "optimized" for them...didn't stop my AMD cards from working without any problems.

As for providing more driver updates...you can read into it what you want. One interpretation is that nVidia is "more concerned" about its customers' experiences & wants them to remain happy & satisfied. Another interpreation might be that nVidia focuses on individual game "tweaks", hence releasing the updates in a more piecemeal fashion, while AMD focuses on fewer but more comprehensive updates. Another interpretation...& the one I think might be more...

Another interpretation...& the one I think might be more likely...is that nVidia has more problems with their driver files, & they end up finding that the "quick fix" for an issue in game A ends up causing a problem in game B, whereas AMD focuses on identifying underlying problems that will affect multiple games.
