More specifically... ToR I have been having random stutters and low fps in ops for awhile now and it's really been bugging me. I know I can run it on Ultra cause a buddy of mine has a rig that is less powerful then mine and has a smooth time running it.

Specs:
Intel i7 - 4770k
Nvidia Gtx 780
16gb RAM
2 TB Hard Drives
250 gb SSD (Where my OS resides and no other games.)
Corsair 750 CX PSU

Any ideas? I heard ToR has a pretty crappy engine so I'm assuming that could be it, but that still doesn't explain why my buddy can run his game just fine, but I can't.

More about : low fps mmo high end rig

Have you checked all CPU and GPU temps? Do you have the latest drivers installed?

Yes, all my temps are fine and so is my CPU. No other game has low FPS (Smite, Battlefield 3, Crysis, Far Cry 3 ect) All these games are just fine when it comes to FPS and I can play them for hours on end with no drop in frames.

It appears that some peoples configuration just causes the game to slow down. Someone suggested doing this:
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=4998521
1. Right Click the game launcher
2. Goto properties
3. Click on the compatibility tab
4. Check these boxes:
5. Disable Visual Themes
6. Disable Desktop composition
7. Run this game as administrator
8. Apply and re-launch the game

Your hardware setup should be perfect; but I would keep the OS on the 2TB drives with swap and used the SSD for my games.

I'll keep the OS on my SSD thanks. :p  After having such fast bootup times for so long it would just be dreadfully painful to go back to HDD boot times.

Yeah I don't restart my computer for months at a time, so not much benefit for me.

Any luck with disabling the visual themes for your game?

I did and it seems to remove the stuttering in some areas but not the god awful FPS issue. :/
