I just bought a new MSI laptop and Titanfall runs very poorly.

I have an AMD A10-5750m CPU, an AMD Radeon R9 m290x 2GB GDDR5, and 8GB RAM. The moment anything intense happens, my FPS goes down the tube even on minimum settings. Even outside of combat, it is often pitifully bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

He doesn't have an I7 though, he has an AMD processor which is quite a bit of difference.

Anyways, it may be stupid to ask this but are you 100% sure titanfall is being played with the dedicated graphics card and NOT with the integrated one?

Also, personally I have a Nvidia 780m ( which is about the same as your card I think ), and Titanfall didn't run too great for me either. It wouldn't be as bad for me as you're describing it, but sometimes there's just so much going on that my FPS would be cut in half.

According to this website: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-R9-M290X.108643.0.html, you should be getting about 60 FPS on Titanfall. How long has it been since you bought it? Try reformatting Windows.

Its been about a month. Battlefield 4 runs perfectly on ultra graphics, so I don't know if windows would be the issue.

It would be beneficial for you to tweak driver settings to squeeze out a bit more performance from the system. The mobile APU isn't that strong so some games that need a lot of CPU power might struggle.
