After much tweaking, my i5 4670k is stable, with xmp on, @ 4.3 Ghz and 1.22 vcore. 1 hour of prime has it capping at 63c.

I can't get it to stabilize any further beyond this point with reasonable voltage,I even tried 1.28 @ 4.5, without any changes to ram and still creates crashes.

I have an h75 cooler so I really afford to push the voltage up anymore.

Is my chip a beta?

Solution
There will always be variations in the silicon quality, That's why the chips are sold at a lower rating that can always be achieved. It's the luck of the draw on how high one can overclock. I've heard that the professional overclockers tests 10s or even 100s of CPUs to get their "best" one.
