Whistling sound coming from desktop

Not sure how to explain but there is a loud pitched sound coming from my system. At first I thought it was the cpu cooler however I replaced it back with my stock cooler and the sound still comes back. It's not always on but when it comes on the sound is consistent. Sometimes it goes away when I game for a little while.

Any ideas?

No, it is a much higher pitch and the sound remains constant instead of constantly changing.

Seems to be coming from somewhere between the cpu slot and the top pci-express slot that my gpu is plugged into. I suppose the only fans that I havn't been able to test the GPU independently from the rest of the system.

Definitely would try that but using fm3+ platform with an fx 4350 processor. So no onboard graphics.

Typically yes, but of course I gave a friend an old gtx 550 ti I had here about a month back. I'd ask to borrow it if it wasn't in another state ya know haha
