I was in an electronic store this afternoon looking at 4k tv's (Im considering using one as a monitor for a gaming pc) My PC will be using two 780ti's in SLI on water, The guy in the store was adamant that if i got a high end HDMI cable it would support a higher refresh rate than 30fps. my question to you all is simply was he lying? will This tv http://www.currys.ie/Product/sony-bravia-kd55x9005bbu-smart-3d-4k-ultra-hd-55-led-tv/321909/6.9.0 run at higher than 30fps using its native inputs?

HDMI 2.0 can carry 60fps over them, as they are higher bandwidth. For whatever reason, gpu's are not hdmi 2.0 compliant. Maybe to save money on their end? not sure. But what you want to do, won't work. The employee wasn't lying about the cable, he just wasn't telling you (or didn't know) that PC GPUS are not supported.

So was my previous post about your TV not being able to do over 30Hz incorrect? If not then it doesn't matter if you manage to do an HDMI 2.0 conversion if your TV can't physically do what you are asking.
