That error is notoriously hard to diagnose. It happens when windows reads a pointer in memory and hits an access issue, usually due to data corruption. But the issue might not be with the ram its self, it could be caused by a cpu error, or motherboard chipsets struggling under load. Could even be a voltage drop causing an error.

If you switched everything except your ram and your still getting the error... I guess thats what I would suspect.

If you just got it once, ignore it. It happens.
If its a recurring issue it indicates a hardware issue, or some other hardware instability, most likely not gfx card related. Usually system memory.

I keep getting them randomly, it got the point where i replaced every part in my pc over the course of 6 months, apart from the RAM.

Could this be the problem? I never really thought it was the RAM, just something else.

Just got another one, same driver caused the blue screen. I have also done memory tests on my ram and it passed.

Alright thanks, could it be the copy of windows itself? And would there be an issue of the ram not responding well to the mobo? - I have an asus m5a97 r2.0.

tbh that is pretty much all the advice I can give you. Might be a chance some one else can add more.

It is unlikely to be a software issue, but if you haven't reinstalled windows after swapping cpu/mobo.... you should.

Alright, thanks for your help much appreciated, looks like ill replace my ram and then see what happens. I'll leave this thread open for a couple of days before selecting the best answer to see if anyone can add any other opinions or info. Thanks. :)

Hey, I've just been running MemTest for the last 3 hours and its been testing all my available ram, while the test was running I opened chrome and got an BSOD straight away, does his confirm the RAM has an issue? While MemTest showed no errors.

The crash address stayed the same - ntoskrnl.exe+75bc0
Thanks.

As I said, there isnt much more advice I can give you. No matter what happens the error will quote ntoskrnl.exe, as that is the process attempting to read the memory.

Again I would suspect the ram, but its not easy to tell. Check the voltage the ram is set to, or set it manually your self. You don't say how much ram you have, just that you have at least 1 8gb stick (you really should have two for dual chan mode) try running with just one module then the other.

I think i have fixed the problem, I switched the ram to another slot and since have not had any blue screens while gaming, where I would have had before. If the problem continues ill just but some more ram.

But anyway thanks for your help! :)
