So I recently built my new computer (First one i've built myself) and when I boot it it says "No bootable device found" and it takes me to the menu with BIOS and all that stuff.

I have Windows 8.1 on my bootable USB but the problem is that the USB won't register on the computer as a bootable device. I checked the BIOS menu and I didn't find anything about boot priority or such, I did however change everything to UEFI; I have no idea what that is but my friend told me to do so but it still doesn't work. I am very sure that the USB is bootable, my friend who is pretty good at this stuff helped me fix that but he couldn't help me further as he wasn't sure why it didn't work. I have a Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3 motherboard by the way.

Help is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Try looking around further for a boot priority option its very important that the drive is set to boot first. Or better yet do a boot over ride to manually boot from the USB. Other thant that try the drive on another computer? that way we could troubleshoot weather its your pc or the drive.
