So I'm upgrading my gtx 660 Ti after 2 years of use. Do you think it would be a better idea to buy a 780 Ti now or wait for a more powerful card to be released. If so, how long do you reckon it will be until a better card is released?

Thanks

The GTX 800 Series won't be released until early-mid 2015 I believe, so you might want to wait until then if you can be patient enough. If not, a 780 Ti is a very strong card that will do great in any task. Either way, you can't go wrong, it just depends on your patience and when you need the card.

I heard a rumor that the GTX 880 will be faster than the 780, have 8GB VRAM, and cost LESS than the GTX 780, but to me that seems kind of too good to be true. I'm guessing the 800 series will cost more than the 700 series, but probably not by too much, but you will be getting more performance for that higher price, as well as a longer support duration and better power efficiency and higher VRAM quantities. For example, an 800 series card that is the same power as, say, a GTX 770, may cost more than a 770 would, but it will probably use less power, be quieter and cooler, and have more VRAM on a larger memory bus. That's all speculation, however, as NVIDIA hasn't said much about the 800 series yet.
