Are M.2 [Plextor] SSD's good for RAID 0?

SSD's are not worth RAID 0 according to this http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-raid-benchmark,3485.html

But then I read a link from PCWorld saying "RAID 0 works far better with SSDs than it does with hard drives." http://www.pcworld.com/article/2365767/feed-your-greed-for-speed-by-installing-ssds-in-raid-0.html

I assume most people around here will agree with tom'sHARDWARE opinion on the matter, since tH did go pretty deep into researching the topic.

But what about the M.2 drives? Plextor has some decent priced M.2/PCIe SSD's, and a few articles I read about them claim that they've gotten 1.4GB/s with RAID 0 http://www.thessdreview.com/our-reviews/plextor-m6e-pcie-m-2-ssd-review-256gb-512gb-raid-testing/

I'm sorry If I'm beating a dead horse here. I'm new to PC building and I haven't had a lot of time lately to read up on the topic, but I can't seem to find a straight answer.

Thanks!

Like you said, there hasn't been a lot of talk about it recently, but my guess would be that at the speeds we're talking about, the controller would make as much of a factor as the drives itself. With a really good controller, SSD's in a raid configuration could be increased to a point where it makes sense. I just think that controllers(at the time of Tom's review) just weren't capable of actually handling the SSD speeds efficiently. With new controllers built specifically for SSD's, the reviews might be different.
