Hi, I have laptop with a VGA port and 3 usb ports. It has html but my html port is broken. The monitors have VGA, and one monitor has dvi too. What's a cheap solution to this? I don't want the two monitors to duplicate, I want the displays to extend. Do I buy a VGA to USB cable? or a dvi to usb cable? Or a VGA to double VGA cable? Not sure what to do.

My computer constantly says that it's low on memory, so I have to restart my computer then it will be fine. Would getting an additional display be a problem since i'm already low on memory? thanks guys!

I would say the first thing you need to sort is your memory problems. This could be a variety of things ranging from malware (hope not) to lack of memory (need more installed) to memory leaks.

As to your external screens, I would suggest doing some work to try to get your HDMI port working again (possible updated drivers needed), if that fails you're then looking at usb/vga adapters. I strongly suspect you'll need to get a usb adapter anyway as my own past experience has shown that laptops won't drive any more than 2 screens regardless of the configuration.

Well VGA splitter ( VGA male connector on one end and 2 VGA female connectors on the other end) will just cause the monitors to duplicate the output feed, IE: it won't do what you are trying to achieve. Try the DVI to USB connection. I haven't tried that before so, it may or may not work, but it looks promising. BTW, VGA is analog while DVI is digital, so your PC may or may not be able to push out to two external displays (depending on the GPU in your system).
