Now i have an old Core2Duo E7500 2.93Ghz im wondering how much faster is AMD A10 5800k in single thread and multithread tasks.

Some people around forums have frightened me about AMD CPUs/APUs performance so much and im thinking if my old Core2Duo is faster in single thread tasks??

Look that bench for example
http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/532/AMD_A10-Series_A10-5800K_vs_Intel_Core_2_Duo_E7500.html

It claims that Core2Duo E7500 is 12% faster in single thread tasks!!!
WTF! Is that possible? Its an ancient CPU and its still faster that the APU?

Solution
Probably, yes. Intel has always held the crown for single threaded tasks over AMD. Well... since the multi core days anyway. Some games are lightly threaded or single threaded. On those the older C2D will probably be better. But on modern games that utilize multi threading well, the APU should have the edge... as long as it has a decent gfx card to work with.
Here's some (non-game) comparisons: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/87?vs=675
For strictly gaming, here's where they rank: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html

That bench you posted claims the opposite of what you 're saying,A10 5800k is faster on single thread performance than the Core2Duo (3576 vs 4083)
So in all aspects of CPU performance the APU is faster that the old Core2Duo,am i right?
