Crossfiring an r9 280x and 7970. Do I need to install both softwares?

Hi!

I am just about to crossfire an MSI r9 280x and Gigabyte 7970 OC and was just wondering that do I need to install the CD which came with the MSI AND gigabyte? Or is it sufficient to just download the latest drivers from AMD?

BTW. I marked down all of my 3D mark vantage scores and here is what I am getting.

Gigabyte 7970 OC single card : 27 625
MSI r9 280x + Gigabyte 7970 OC : 35 941

Is that around what anyone would expect? It seems like a small jump...

WOW. I just launched BF4 and used fraps to measure my min max and average and there was quite a significant increase. here take a look at this :)

- 7970 OC single card becnhmarks BF4 -

* Avg. 40.252 fps

* Min. 0

* Max. 73

- 7970 OC + r9 280x corssfire benchmarks BF4 -

* Avg. 85.455

* Min. 57

* Max. 116

Seems good to me :) Looks like x4 x4 isn't the end of the world after all :)

I know!! I'm so happy now especially after the disappointing results from the 3D mark vantage benchmark.

By the way, those benchmarks are on Ultra settings at 1440p BF4.
