Can't connect after refresh

Hi all,

Recently I had many problems with my laptop after updating windows to 8.1. I resorted to refreshing my PC which seemed to resolve most of the problems. However...

Now when I attempt to connect to the wifi, I am prompted to enter a the router label PIN. When I do so, it gives me an error message stating:

"Can't connect to this network

Windows can't get the network settings from this router."

When one week ago before the refresh (also before the major problems) the PIN was sufficient. My phone(s) still connect, and my housemates (in whose room the router is located) are still connected and have not changed anything on their end. Obviously the problem is with my laptops settings.

How can I solve this problem?

Sorry, my post got mixed in with your post. Uninstall the adapter in device manager, reboot, let it find and install the driver, try to connect.

I uninstalled my wireless adapter Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 135. When I rebooted, it was already back and when I tried to "automatically" update the driver it said the most up to date driver was already installed. Still had the same problem when attempting to connect.

Very odd, must be some personal setting that got altered.
