I'm building my first gaming pc and want to make sure it's a relatively nice build. Here are the part sI currently have selected

Case: NZXT Phantom 410 Mid Tower
SSD: 250GB Intel 530 series
HDD: 2TB WD Caviar black
RAM: 16GB (2x8) Corsair Vengeance
MOBO: Gigabyte Z97 Gaming 7
CPU: i7-4970k
GPU: GTX 780
PSU: EVGA Supernova 750w 80Plus gold

I plan to overclock the cpu and am wondering if I should use an aftermarket cpu fan, or a closed loop water cooler for the cpu. Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!

Hey Vinny54,

When you say decent do you mean overkill? This PC will dominate any game/program in its path. If you are looking for looking for a extremely high end PC then you got yourself one. You have to remember though that you can save money by going with some cheaper parts because many people would say you don't need that great of a PC. In the end it is your choice. You can go with an expensive as heck build which dominate or another computer which can deliver the around same amount of performance for less money.

If your going with such an expensive build, you should either go with a 780ti or Titan.

Why? Titans only show improved performance with multiple monitors at HD and the 780 versus the 780 ti isn't worth the cost difference. In my opinion if he got a EVGA Geforce GTX 770 4gb it would be better ( http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp43778k... ) as it is cheaper and has more VRAM than the average 780.
