PC looses internet connection when it goes to sleep.

Why does my computer lose internet connection when computer screen turns off. Like I leave my computer alone for a while and then screen turns off and then when I wake it up, it shows that I have no internet connection. I have to then wait a while until it reconnects. Please help this is annoying

I have asus sabertooth p67
i5 2500k
Win 7 Ult x64

If the system is sleeping it will request an ip from the router when it wakes up. You can adjust the time for the system to sleep. The screen should still be able to be off without the system actually sleeping.

Also check the device manager to ensure you do not have the network card set to shut off to save power.

I have never had much issues with this, by the time I type my password it seems to always be reconnected. If you are using wireless I can see it taking a bit longer to reconnect.
