so i went out and spent so much money on this "amazing" Memory, corsair dominator platinum to be exact (CMD16GX3M2A2400C10) and my BIOS knows nothing about it besides that its DDR3-1333MHz (which its supposed to be 2400MHz) and crashes when i try to clock it at that... so does anyone have an overclock configuration that would work(ex. voltages, timings etc.) ? or do you think its busted? ---- (2x4GB) running on Asus rampage IV black with intel 4930k. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Solution
You will prob need to OC the CPU to 4-4.2 or so, then enable XMP and select profile 1. Most 2011 CPUs can carry 1866 and some 2133 with no OC but most take a little OC to run 2400

yeah, ive checked with the manual and discussed this in another post, thats all correct, and i should add that i've used this PC completely fine for about a day now, but windows crashed a few hours ago and when i try to start it, it says the overclock failed

You might try downloading and running Memtest86. If the RAM is faulty, that should show it. Here's a link to a tutorial for a number of free tests, including one that comes with Windows.
