I have ASUS M4A88T-M USB3. Getting 1 long 2 short beeps while starting the pc. My pc config is as follows:

PhenomII X6 1090T@3.2GHz
4GB (2X2GB) Dynate 1066MHz

I checked with 1 RAM at a time on different slots, removed all connections and devices and run only Motherboard, but still getting those beeps.

    Using integrated gpu?
  2. Thanks for quick reply.
Yes integrates GPU. No any expansion card or external device atttached.
  3. Try doing a BIOS reset. If it still doesn't work then the IGP might have crapped itself. 1 long 2 short indicates a video problem.

If you are certain you did reset the bios then your integrated graphics is dead. There isn't anything you can do about it other than install a new discrete graphics card.
  8. Ohhh noo. That means my inbuilt graphics is dead and if I purchase external graphic card, it will work. Is it?

    Thanks
  9. It should, yes.
  10. Hi,

Yes, its my VGA is corrupted and my mobo's warranty period is over, so planning to buy new mobo. But AM3 socket mobo is out of stock everywhere.
So will my AMD PhenomII X6 1090T (AM3 socket) will work on AM3+ socket motherboard?
If Yes, then which one is best mobo with AM3+ in my budget i.e. >70$?

    Thanks.
  11. Why don't you just buy a new graphics card? if you buy an am3+ mobo you'll still need a graphics card...
  12. Hi,

I asked 1 of the PC service center, he told me tht if I go with external graphic card then also during 1st boot, onboard VGA required for initial signal..something like that.

I am in confusion now. If I buy ext. graphic card, will it work with no beep codes?

I'll check with my friends ext. graphic card and will let you know.

    Thanks.
