Intel 4th gen Extreme (the 5830K, 5930K and 5960X) will arrive around september and will cost 300, 500 and 1000 respectively

Intel 5th gen is a die shrink of 4th gen and will consume less power and be slightly more powerful Skus include i3 5130 i5 5670k and i7 5770k to name a few guesses.

will they have same socket?

Isn't 5th gen Broadwell? Making the Haswell refresh a process maturity upgrade?

That's how I understood Intel's progression.

Edit: Just found this:

@OP
5th gen is known as Broadwell and should use the same socket as the current 4th gen processors. As mentioned before, Broadwell is a process shrink to 14nm and should be more efficient, possibly faster. There should be a full lineup of processors released, but in what order and how many is up to Intel.

"Unlocked Freedom
The combination of the Intel Z97
chipset and the new unlocked 4th gen
Intel Core processors
allow you to
unlock your system’s ultimate perfor-
mance. These capabilities allow you
to change the core, graphics, and
memory frequencies without having
to run any other part of the system
above specifications.
With the new unlocked tuning capabilities of the
4th gen Intel Core processors and the
Intel Z97 chipset, your PC experience
is unleashed with flexible performance."

Referring to the new unlocked capabilities of 4th gen...leads me to think that the Haswell refresh is just a maturity step. Otherwise it would throw the naming scheme off and making Broadwell 6th gen with 5k series numbering?

5820k-5930k and 5960x are haswell -e cpus. They will need x99 chipset and a variable of lga 2011 mobo the 2011 -3.This means that even if the 5820k is around 300-350 the cheapest mobo will be over 200.

5th generation will come in 2015 and it will be supported by 9 series chipset. Also broadwell doesn't have any high end cpu thus far (check wiki)
