So i've been building a computer, and i recently set up the CPU, mobo, PSU etc etc. The only part that i don't have yet is the gfx card, but that is not of much worry.
My main problem is that the integrated graphics that came with my Intel i3 4150 is not exactly running to standard. I'm not expecting much of it, but it should at least be able to handle TF2 and Gmod relatively well (30fps at least) But the thing is, the integrated graphics are running Worse than my old GFX card, which was a very dated Radeon HD 2400 w/t 256MB VRAM. And it really shouldn't be doing that. I can't replace the old card because it was an SFF card, designed for *shudder* mini-desktop dell systems. So i have been led to believe that the problem is not with the graphics, but rather with the drivers for those graphics. I have my MESA and OpenGL as far up to date as the repos allow, so i believe there must be some proprietary or other drivers that i have missed. I have looked, but i could not find any. Any help would be much appreciated.
Specs:
Intel i3 4150 @ 3.5Ghz
Intel HD 4400 integrated graphics
8GB of DDR3 RAM
Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for your help.

See what you should get by plugging your pc details into the Game Debate page for the game eg http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=98&game... and norte the settings they use as well as the fps.

CPU: 9
GFX: 4
RAM: 9
and in the graphs it shows my gfx as "157%" over reccomended, so i do believe it isn't to do with that.

EDIT: I am running on lowest settings. My old GFX card was also running at lowest setting

There doesn't appear to be any drivers that'll work for me. I tried using the source code but alas. I am on opensuse 12.2 I did manage to update libva and libdrm, along with xf86.

Well no shit it runs slow. Opens use 12.2 is 3years old! It will not have proper support for your video card.Reccomend you try latest Ubuntu 14.04
Or opensuse 13.1 if you like opensuse.
Hmmm yes. I guess it's about time i upgraded. The only reason why i haven't yet is simply because of the massive amount of effort i had to put in to get my setup all working. Steam was a pain in the ass to set up, took me a good 5 hours of an afternoon to get working. I'll have a look at switching to Ubuntu. I can always partition 20GB for opensuse if i want.

Steam is very easy to get working in Ubuntu. Literally takes one click.
