What is the exact model of the second case? Zalman Z11 Plus? Zalman Z9 Plus?

It's a very close call. I would just pick the one that looks better to you.
The Zalman case has a slight advantage with cooling though; It comes with a lot of fans pre-installed.

thanks hoping for my opinions - im concerned about cable management - i got a vs650 cosair which is not Modular- and will be running two gtx 660 in SLI. still deciding on cooling for the CPU.

The cases both look like they're decent for managing the cables, but the Z11 is a bit wider and it should therefore be easier to manage cables in it.
