hello all

im rather new to the forums and have heard everyone is very helpful so thought id sign up and join the community :)

but i have got a slight problem with my laptop at the moment i have an asus x550dp, and i am having trouble getting the correct drivers for the AMD 8550g + hd 8670m, as the ones on the asus website seem to be corrupt or damaged and therefore don't work and the other drivers for it are quite old, but also i have tried using the mainstream drivers on the AMD website but they are not compatible, im just wondering if there is anywhere else i could get up to date drivers for my laptop, i have tried googling but come up empty, also my CPU is an AMD A8 elite quad core 5550m.

Thanks :)

I wouldn't recommend getting it from anywhere else, really you should open a support ticket with the asus helpdesk I think it's your best option as you've tried everything else.

yep used the auto detect on the amd website but it unfortunately gives me the incorrect driver and it crashes my pc after i have installed the driver it recommended, and i used the asus support vga driver for my model of laptop and for windows 8.1 which is what im running at the moment and the driver appears to be corrupt or damaged. :)

Did you try to re-download from ASUS? How long have you had the laptop? Did it come with the right driver pre-installed?

yep i have tried to redownload the driver several times all with the same result, i have had the laptop about 8 months roughly, and it came with the working driver installed (an older driver) and asus notified me a few months ago there was an update for my graphics driver and so i updated it with the one that appears to be corrupt and i would prefer not to go back to the old driver if i can help it as it is from the beginning of 2013 where as the new driver is may 2014, so im just hoping i can get the new driver from somewhere else :)
