So I've had this 5870 build for about 4 years now, and I'm considering an upgrade. I only need a gaming GPU for 1080p on a single monitor. I'm considering a GTX 780, I can pick up the FTW version on Amazon for $490, $470 with rebate. I've read that I could probably get away with the 770 for 1080p gaming, but I don't upgrade often, so I don't mind paying a bit more.

My other specs are an i7-920 OC to 3.8, and 6gb Corsair Dominator RAM. I've been told that I shouldn't run into bottlenecking issues with these components, but I figured I'd double check. Am I ok just upgrading the GPU for the moment, or should I consider a completely new build?

Yeah, that PSU is fine. 6GB is also fine at the moment, but that may no longer be the case in two or three years; Just upgrade it when games start to demand more.

I have a Corsair 750 TX, it should be more than enough. As far as RAM, do I really need more than 6gb for just gaming? I don't really run much else when I'm gaming. I suppose I could upgrade to 12gb if needed.
