I'm building a computer for my brother, but unfortunately he has the video card and won't be up to visit for quite some time. I've ordered the other parts and will be getting them soon, so I want to make sure they all work before the replacement window is up. However, I don't have a motherboard speaker to listen for POST reports, and even if I did, I'm worried that the motherboard might have a malfunctioning PCI slot (it has happened in the past). I want to use my own video card to test his system, but it's a GTX670, and I don't know if his power supply will be OK with it (Nvidia suggests a 500w PSU minimum for this card).

Here's his PSU:
CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W (+3.3V@25A, +5V@20A, +12V@38A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@3.0A)

Here's the processor in the system if you need it (not overclocked):
AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W

And here's my video card (I'm pretty sure it's the same as any other GTX670, but I haven't checked):

I'm not going to be using the system; I just want to make sure all the parts work. I'm only hooking up my video card so that the system will be "complete" and so that I can see the POST messages.

I'm using a 450w PSU and my OC'd 670 still has head room.

That makes me feel better. Does the GTX670 mini version use the same amount of power? I guess that's kind of moot since you're overclocking it.

Edit: Nice computer by the way.
