New webcam will not work on Win 7 system

Received new webcam today, it is detected and working "properly" but I cannot see anything. What am I doing wrong please?

No driver supplied and no manual supplied. my system recognizes the webcam and states it is working properly but still nothing. I have tried downloading drivers from microsoft , 8 in total, but they will not load.

There is no model number or details. It is a cheap webcam from Amazon generic without instructions or anything. It plugs and is recognized by my system which says it is working properly but nothing.

Alright, let's not insult each other.

Do all of the different webcams use USB? If so, have you tried different ports? What about different PCs? Are you sure that the USB ports on your PC are working properly? Please provide links to the webcams, that would be really helpful.
