I have just built a new machine and all was fine for the first week or so. However the PSU has started making a buzzing noise. If I push the main cable firmly into the PSU and fiddle with it a bit the noise goes but eventually comes back.

The following video is a recording of the noise. You can hear me fiddling with it to stop the noise before letting go and the noise coming back.

Does anyone recognise this noise or have an idea if this is a direct fault with the PSU or likely to be something else within the surrounding area?

Many thanks.

I've heard many reports of a phenomenon called "coil whine" - not having ever experienced it myself, I can't tell if that's what you're hearing. It seems to be endemic in certain types of PSUs.

You might try contacting Silverstone and see if you can arrange a RMA. Maybe it will help, maybe not.
