How do i know which graphics card is compatible with my computer im getting

Hi im wondering how do i know which graphics car is compatible with my desktop that im getting. The mother board is going to be and Asus z87 plus. The CPU is an intel i7 4770k.

there is a site called pcpart picker, go on it, put in your build, it'll tell you if it's compatible

500 watts is fine for most single gpu setups if u get a quality psu. i recommend seasonic or xfx.

what if i changed my motherboard to the ASUS Z97 and processor to intel i5 4690k? Would all graphics cards still work?

It has a built in compatibility matcher, so all you have to do is put in your processor and it will find it for you. Good luck, and I hope this helped (Even though others already suggested this).
