I'm upgrading my graphics card to an R9 280x, with all these rumours of the 'new' Tonga chip is it worth buying the card now or waiting?

If it's supposed to replace the R9 280X, it's probably going to perform about the same, but would maybe be a little cheaper, it would defently use less power and therefore also run cooler.
So you might get a quieter card if you wait, but you're really not gaining any extra performance in games.

Yeah, I wouldn't wait for it. In general, amd 280x runs pretty cool (tops around 80 in 1 GHz clock speed) anyways.
