building and older gaming computer

I have an old Dell 435MT that has a 300W power supply and I want to upgrade the power supply to a 450w for a new video card can the motherboard handle the new power supply. the new video card is going to be
XFX ATI Radeon HD5450 1 GB DDR3 VGA/DVI/HDMI Low Profile PCI-Express Video Card HD545XZCH2

You can run that video card with that current power supply. I have run a Radeon HD 6450 (the next step up) with a 240 watt power supply in a Dell Optiplex 760 DT model.

Also, yes - as long as that tower allows (most towers do) for a standard power supply it should be able to use a 450 watt unit (definately a good idea to upgrade, but not required). I found this website VERY useful for 2 dell computers I was using (now only 1 after building my current system and selling the Optiplex 760). http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums
