there is a lot of things you can get that would be better:

1: If you can, get a r7 240 graphics card and a Pentium G3220 or Celeron 1820 and a B85 or H81 chipset motherboard. It will be far faster than that APU.
2. Get a Seasonic 430W psu, those corsair CX series psus are junk.

I personally like the 300R corsair case.

i3 is for casual gaming. Consider the build with AMD which I've recommended please.

Pl share your research. Also I've edited the post. Still i3 does not cater for high end games.

Hmm, it's quite new there's not a lot out there but the i3-4130 has more...

It's no slouch, and a haswell build has much more potential for an upgrade than AM3 or FM2+

You could also push to get an i5 into the build (as you've done) or just go FX but I think too many people write off the i3 because it's only dual core w/ HT instead of quad core, without seeing what it can do

I understand your point dear. Fact is today's games take on more raw CPU power and requires more cores or that i3's dual cores may not be able to provide that sort of game play which we can get from i5 or even i7. But again looking at the OP's budget, i3 would do the decent job here. Within this budget OP would not be pushing above 1080p or even at 1080p. So with less res, OP would be benefited with budget build.

I hope, Op would stretch $45 above his budget and get i5. He would be much more benefited and I think you would concur this :)
