I am condensing my laptops, I am removing the hard drive from a Pavilion dm3 and using it inside of a pavilion dv7. So far I have gotten everything to work with the exception of the USB drivers and the graphics drivers.
The USB drivers are giving an error that is most likely the computer not recognizing the "new hardware" and therefore will not download new drivers. I might be wrong. Another symptom is while in the system recovery state the wireless mouse works while not in system recovery the usb ports have no response other than power.
The GPU is using a generic driver system. I am afraid to delete the driver/uninstall.
I have the driver files from my other hard drive the original that came with the computer. but even though i put the files in the proper places the computer still doesn't recognize them
