I went to start my computer a few days ago and i heard a pop.....then the computer was dead,
I pulled the Inland 500 watt out and replaced it with the original one a Inland 350 watt power supply......it booted up normally.......the next day i bought a EVGA 500 watt Bronze and replaced the old 350 watt one.......I re checked all the plugs and plugged it in and hit the power button....it booted to the Power Spec P4 Intel screen and stopped.....i rechecked all the plugs and they were all firmly seated in the sockets......i booted up again and only booted to the logo screen.....the optical drives both lit up and also for 5 seconds the hard drive lite came on a blinked a few times then went out........I have found the IF i boot up to Logo Screen and then shut down and hold the power button IN.........then release it and press it in again with in a few seconds it will Boot Up Wonderfully........any ideas why it acts like this will sure be greatly appreciated and..... i need a fix it for the problem !...........Thank You

Well i tryed 2 EVGA 500 watt "Bronze" power supplys and had the same issues with BOOT UP......would not load to Windows........so traded the 500 watt PSU for a inland 500 watt SILVER...installed and pressed the Boot up button.....................WOW...............it booted UP like new......something about the EVGA PSU that my components sure did not like.. well LOL its a XP system and way over 10 years old some times things are not compatible and the Inland PSU is what i had replaced in it several years ago wnen i went to a PCI express Video card that required it !
