Managing SSD + 3TB HDD

I have a 3TB HDD right now and when I bought it I had to go through the terrible process of getting windows installed on it, so now that I'm getting my first SSD I wanted to ask a few quick questions.

1 - Are there any complications I might run into using the 3TB drive as mass storage or trying to make backups of it?

2 - Do I have to wipe the 3TB drive that has Windows installed on it or can I just plug an play once I have the SSD set up?

3 - Can I clone the SSD to a HDD?

1. Complications of using the 3TB HDD as mass storage? No. Complications of making backups of it? Maybe. It depends if you have backup drives large enough.
2. You probably should to clear room. And one Windows license is for one computer. What's the point of having it on the HDD once you get your SSD set up?
3. You can, but why would you want to? Maybe you wanted to do the opposite? But yes, you can clone the OS from the HDD to the SSD.

1. Is the drive size going to be the only issue? I've never cloned a drive before so I wasn't sure if there would be limitations when trying to clone drives >2TB or anything like that.

2. The main reason is that I don't like the idea of having to move all of my files to another drive and then back onto this one. There's 1.75 TB of data on it already, so moving that around is going to take some time. If I can just plug it in and go I'd be able to take my time moving things around to where I want them.

3. The main reason would be to save money. I'm hoping the MTTF of 1.5 million hours will mean that I don't have to worry about the SSD, but I'd also rather just pick up 1 or 2 cheap 1TB HDD and use those as clone drives than pick up a much more expensive SSD larger than the new 512GB SSD to clone to.
