Is my CPU overclocking good?

How good is the overclock on my i7 4790k? I've got it at 4.6 Ghz at 1.2 volts with temps of around 75 degrees Celsius (thanks to an h100i) is it low, average or pretty good. I'm a bit new with this overclocking stuff and I'm wondering if my chip is good.

Oh and do you guys think I still have headroom to overclock a bit more?

Edit: It runs at 75 Celsius after a few hours of Aida64. When it's idle it's at about 40

  1. That's not too bad of an overclock, Most of these cpu's overclock to about 4.6 to 4.7ghz. Some of them higher but you have to be lucky.

Now those temps are pretty close, anything over 80 is considered high. For a h100i that's actually quite a high temp. These cpu's are known to run really hot.

I would not overclock any further but you could push it a little more, The temps are quite close for me.
  2. Oops, I made a bit of an oversight. It runs at around 75 degrees after a few hours of Aida64. Idle temps are about 38-40 degrees.

    Don't push it any further.

Agreed, you're just under the safe temp.

I decided to lower my voltage, frequency and in consequence lower my temps. And now im happily running my i7 @ 4.5 Ghz with a voltage of 1.18 and now my temps don't go any higher than 70 degrees celcius :D Im a happy johnny
