i was having the mobo asus m78lt m le , phenom 2 x4 , 6gb ram and sapphire r9 270
but every time i strat my pc there is a message in bios say "your cpu is not supported by this mobo" .. and i was pressing f1 and ignoring it and the pc start fine and every thing is okay for about 2 years now ..but in some games like witcher 2 it was lagy like hell and risen 2 dark water
so
i decide to buy a fx 8320 + gigabyte 990xa ud3
i ordered the mobo frist and i was intend to buy the fx 8320 in the next week BUT it was a surprise to me when i start the witcher 2 and risen 2 they work on ultra on 1080 like magic witcher was like form 50 fps to 70 in ultra 1080 and that was a big surprise to me i found that my phenom was not working as it should on the old mobo
NOW i do not know ..should i get the fx 8320 ?? or save the 150$ ???? and if i got it that will make diffrence to my rig or i wont need the 8 cores because my 4 cores working fine now ???

i was waiting for the new GTA , witcher 3 , tomb raider and risen 3 ,,,, should i do it or invest the money in the gpu ??

i think some of the games were using the integrated graphics in the 780g motherboard instead of the discreet r9 270 causing the lag. if the cpu works, use it, no reason to upgrade it too. when you find a game that doesnt work get a better cpu that you can find at that time. as you wait you will be getting a better cpu for the same money.

i agree with you (Y) .. but i am not agree abput the the game was uses the built in gpu because it hink it is impossible because the mobo only reads my r9 270 and the output cable coming from the vga card not the mobo output and if that was the built in then the game will not load at all

or maybe it was automatically enabling some sort of weird hybrid crossfire options, in either case, you can't have such a different fps score based just on the motherboard unless the missing onboard graphics affected the games too... in any case, you'll be happy to find the cpu can hold it's own against modern day cpu-s, especially with a small overclock if you have a good cooler, it should fit somewhere between a fx4300 and fx6300
