My RAM usage steadily goes up to 100%, after that it slowly goes down again.
The whole process takes about 2-3 minutes.
I don't see any program use that much memory and this occurs randomly (not when I start a particular program, etc.)
I've already run that windows memory test tool and it didn't report any errors.
Anyone knows, what could cause this?

Windows 8.1 64bit
Intel Core i7 4770K @ 4600MHz
MSI Z87-G43
Asus RADEON HD 7970 dc2t @ 1000 MHz
16GB (2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz
Samsung 840 EVO-Series 120GB

Solution
a virus running in the background. Possibly bit coin mining virus.
download AVIRA AntiVir Rescue System and scan for virus. It is a bootable virus checker. Runs without windows. Make sure you have your bios set to read CD or USB (depending on what you put the software on) as FIRST in you boot order.
