The GTX 770 and any other new GPU should fit on your motherboard since it has a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot. But, you will most likely need a better power supply. Look into getting at least a 550 watt PSU from a decent quality brand like Seasonic, Corsair, XFX or OCZ. There are many others but those are the most commonly recommended. Also, follow this chart for PSU reference for each card: http://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/power-requirements-for-graphics-cards and pay particular attention to the +12v rail amperage requirements. They recommend a 600w PSU with a 42 amp +12v rail for a 770 but you should be fine with a 550 watt high end PSU.

That was his point, yes.

As an owner of a system with an Core i5-750 (same generation/socket as your i7) and a GTX 770 I can tell you that your processor will have no trouble whatsoever allowing you to hit 60 FPS in most games. If your goal was higher, like if you have a 120 Hz monitor, you might start to see a bottleneck at high framerates—but then, you'd already be at high framerates.

Can you tell us about your monitor? What's the resolution?

It's a Packard Bell Viseo 230WS, 1920 x 1080

Good, just making sure. No one seemed to have mentioned it before, and the GTX 770 would be rather wasteful for anything less than 1080p.

Get the GTX 750ti. You can still play any game out today with it just not on max settings. Even battlefield 4 will play on it. It will work fine with your CPU and power supply and takes little energy to power.
